Dane Capital has a strong belief in investor alignment. That means that we have a significant portion of our net worth in our Fund.

It also means that we seek out managements and companies that we believe act in a manner that will create shareholder value.

Dane's Founder and Chief Investment Officer, Eric Gomberg, has over 20 years of investment experience, including 10 years as a sell-side analyst.

Dane looks for companies and managements that are efficient at deploying their capital. We also seek out managements that have demonstrated a pattern of insider buying or stock repurchases when shares are trading below intrinsic value.

We believe that Wall Street is crowded with firms looking at too many of the same ideas. We strive to identify unique opportunities that are under-followed or under-appreciated. This frequently requires extended periods of making investments and then waiting until the “consensus” comes around to our view.

We think that companies with high quality managements, products, and services — and sustainable competitive advantages — that trade at compelling valuations, will eventually be rewarded. We seek out such companies.

Eric has incorporated a sell-side tilt to Dane's approach, frequently publishing detailed write-ups on its top stock ideas.

“As time goes on, I get more and more convinced that the right method of investment is to put fairly large sums into enterprises which one thinks one knows something about and in the management of which one thoroughly believes.”
